Where can I buy my book?
Customers will be able to purchase through their local bookseller.
Does the department have to buy copies of the books themselves?
No, you can order your book through your local bookseller. If you prefer to order books through the department please don't hesitate to contact us. We will however supply you with free copies for you and all the other lecturers on the course.
What will my book cost?
The price of each book will depend on the amount of material selected, author royalties and any third party permissions. In most cases the Custom book will cost a small premium over the cost of a normal textbook.
Are there any restrictions on the number of copies I must order?
There is no restriction on the size of the book you build. However there is a minimum order value of £8 and you must anticipate that at least 100 students will buy the book.
How long will it take to create my book?
Once you have decided on the content for your Custom text it takes 10 weeks to produce the book and have it ready for purchase
Will anyone help me prepare my book?
The Pearson Custom Publishing team and/or Pearson Education Acquisitions Editors are on hand to work with you to develop your custom book. We can guide you through the process.
Can I include content from US titles in my custom book?
Yes.
Can I have an index incorporated within my text?
The minimum requirement for an index is an adoption of 200 students.
Can I choose my own cover?
We have a number of eye catching covers designs for you to choose from and you can customise any of these with you university logo and any wording you want. In addition, if you have anything else in mind we can help you source an image or you can provide your own.
I want to include coloured pages in my book. Is this possible?
Yes it's possible to include colour pages in your book subject to print run and price thresholds. Your editor will discuss this further with you.
How long does a custom title take to produce from handover to publication?
Approx. 10 weeks for a standard title. Some projects may take longer (e.g. is an index is to be created).
