Job description:

To research, develop and manage specific projects within the ELT General Adult courses publishing programme, in line with the cost, time and quality parameters set out by the division.

The job requires a thorough understanding of the needs of teachers and learners and the flair and commercial awareness to translate those needs into inspiring, market leading resources.

Key Responsibilities:

Research markets and the competition, create and/or assess proposals, commission materials for piloting and prototype.

Put together the financial justification for projects in order to present and gain approval for publication proposals

Identify, commission and a manage authors. Ensure authors deliver in accordance with markets needs

Retain overall project management responsibility for all stages of the product

Work as part of a closely-knit team including authors, editors marketing,

design and production personnel

Clearly communicate project scope and aims to the team

Develop material to ensure appropriate quality is produced.

Advise on key production stages, retaining an overview of content through to publication.

Support departments in the division to contribute to maximising the profitability of a project

Key requirements:

A recognised ELT qualification and relevant degree

A minimum of three years relevant ELT editorial experience and at least three years experience of EFL teaching, preferably in more than one country, and in the Exams area

Ability to research, analyse and present information

Excellent communications and negotiation skills

Experience of managing people

Excellent prioritising, time management and problem-solving skills

A sound understating of what makes good classroom material, and a critical

awareness of current Exams and Grammar ELT materials in the market

Ideally have an understanding of the international Exams and Grammar ELT education market

A strong interest in elearning and digital delivery of educational materials

A can-do attitude combined with a desire to do what it takes to bring projects in on schedule, on budget and to the quality set by the division

Creative and enthusiastic, with excellent commercial sense and a real commitment to the creation of high quality Exams and Grammar ELT materials

Knowledge of one or more foreign language would be useful
